The Call to Space

Part III: “Hand Holding”

Sometimes, the way we take up space is how we collaborate with others. Tracie Morris, experimental poet, defines “hand holding” as a type of translation we attempt when responding to other artists and writers. Other times though, our spatial collaborations are with our loved ones, the environments we inhabit, advertisements, even strangers, art. We are always in conversations with things that are impressionable to our being. We can’t help but become malleable to such forces. And after all that molding, we all end up asking questions like Chrissy Kolaya in “Enter the Ageless Future”: Who will you be?
