Karen Price grew up outside of Philadelphia and was taken to Florida against her will in 1970 to live in a world filled with palmetto trees and palmetto bugs, rattlesnakes and armadillos, and people full of hope for a new start or devoid of all hope and committed to living a life of dissipation. She escaped to New York for a while, but after a series of unfortunate events ended up back in Florida, where she writes, teaches, edits, and works to support the local literary community and animal welfare causes. Karen has been published by Scholastic Book Clubs and Book Fairs, Heinemann Library, TickTock Books, Greenhaven Press, National Geographic, and the Smithsonian. She teaches writing at Full Sail University.
