Ariana Simpson is a recent graduate of Rollins College where she received her B.A. in English. A result of being around equally lit nerdy professors, she has shared creative spaces with Bhanu Kapil, Ronaldo V. Wilson, Ross Gay, and Chase Twichell, as well as Terrance Hayes, Tina Chang, and Martha Rhodes post grad to name a few. A growing writer also in the sociological and journalistic sense, her prose and poetry have become intertwined with social activism alongside the angsty enjambments. Having grown since her first monumental performance of reading 12 pages of disgruntled uncensored poetry in front of her 5th grade class, Ariana has been around central Florida reading, performing multimedia centered poetry, as well in local zines. She plans to obtain one of her graduate degrees as an MFA in the north west, until then she’ll continue to sometimes stumble over her own spoken word and freestyle rap as a creative coping mechanism.
