There are many people who contributed to my book, Who’s That? Discovering Orlando One Interview at a Time. Besides the seventeen people interviewed for the project, there were many people behind the scenes making things happen. I wanted to take the time to acknowledge their efforts and also encourage you to support their work. Free-lancers UNITE!

Ryan Rivas, the editor – It was Ryan’s job to read and edit my work, but he put more thought and care into each sentence than necessary, maybe even more than I did. I wrote recklessly. He kept my words precise and focused. If you like my work, really you should praise him. The best way to do that is by reading his blog entries featured right here on burrowpress.com and sending him comments via email, ryan@burrowpress.com. He loves feedback. If for some reason, you don’t like my work. Throw rocks at him.

Joey Meddock, the photographer – Sometimes a picture says more than words. I thought it was important to capture each interviewee in a studio space. Joey did an amazing job capturing the essence of what I wanted, and it only took him ten minutes per person to do it. Overall, it took four or five sessions, each over two hours long, to get the entire project done. But he made the work fun. Joey is known as a world-class photographer in the wakeboarding world. Some of his clients include Nike, Billabong, Quiksilver, Fox, Red Bull and Oakley. His work has also been featured in ESPN magazine, Sports Illustrated for kids, The Standerd, WakeBoarding magazine, Alliance Wake, Water Ski magazine and many more. A lot of his work is done behind a boat and out on the water, but he does amazing studio shoots too. Book yours now at www.meddock.com.

James Krawcyzk, the designer – I’m not sure anyone, besides me and James, will ever realize how much work goes into the layout of a book like mine. It’s a tedious process to bold, underline, highlight, adjust word s p a c i n g and so on, but James does it with grace. He also designs websites, logos, presentations and pretty much anything he can get his hands on. If your business is feeling flat, he might be the person you’re looking for. Check out his portfolio at www.heyjk.com.

Michelle Cameron, the map and cover designer – When I asked Michelle if she wanted to design a map for me, connecting everyone in my book, she jumped right on it. It turned out so good that I went back and asked her to design the cover of my book, even though it’s something she had never done before. “No problem! I’d be honored,” she said. Lucky for me, Chelle suffers from insomnia. The middle of the night was the only time she could squish this project into her schedule. We would Skype for a few hours each night and then I’d receive files at three and four in the morning. I’d respond to her the next morning, at least by nine, and she was already at her over-demanding day job. Crazy. Her website, www.dawnmichellecameron.com is in progress but you can email her at dmichellec@gmail.com for any free-lance work. She makes docs (which you can read about in my book), designs invitations and also creates cute, feather headbands.

There are many other people that are helping out, like Jenn Haag, who is an event planner and planning my party. Amber Mundinger, who has gotten the City of Orlando behind my project and helping with my marketing campaign. Jefre who is eager to share his space, Blank Space Art Gallery. The people who have already bought the book, or RSVP’d to the release party. And the list goes on. I can’t thank everyone enough. Really. It’s awesome. It’s why I love Orlando, the people here are amazing.
